know the Founder

I’m Ayo Janeen Jackson, founder of Don’t B. Ashy, multidisciplinary artist, and former professional dancer. After years of touring across five continents with internationally acclaimed dance companies and performing on Broadway, I pursued an M.F.A. to deepen my creative practice.

Through research and experimentation, I discovered something powerful: that high art and healing art can be one and the same. What started as a personal ritual, blending shea body butter in my kitchen, grew into Don’t B. Ashy, an everyday luxury skincare brand rooted in my Southern heritage.

Each jar is handmade in small batches, infused with ancestral knowledge of care and natural shea butter hydration passed down through generations.

Don’t B. Ashy is more than skincare; it’s a balm for the body and the soul. Because staying moisturized isn’t just about looking good — it’s about healing the skin and healing within.
